About Geraldine

Passionate about sharing the life-changing physical and mental benefits of Yoga, Geraldine has taught extensively in public, private, corporate, retreat and health settings and is a registered Senior Level Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia.

 

Geraldine has been a practising Yoga Therapist since 2014 and completed her Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy with Kym McDonald of Yogic Wisdom in 2019.

 

She is also a Yoga teacher trainer, with a particular love of sharing and exploring Yoga philosophy for self-understanding.

My Learning Journey

I have been a student and practitioner of Yoga since 1997 and have been teaching since 2000. I initially trained with the Sydney Yoga Centre, and was then mentored in the tradition of Krishnamacharya by Michael de Manincor (of The Yoga Institute). Drawn by the holistic and individualised approach of this lineage, I have since studied with senior teachers including Dr Natesan Chandrasakeran and Saraswati Vasudevan.

Yoga Experience:

  • Certificate in Yoga Teaching from Sydney Yoga Centre 2000

  • Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy from Yogic Wisdom 2019

  • Trained with Sydney Yoga Centre was mentored by Michael de Manincor of the Yoga Institute

  • Studied with T K V Desikachar and family on their visit to Australia in the early 2000s

  • Subsequently trained with Dr Natesan Chandrasakeran and Saraswati Vasudevan, both long-term direct students of Desikachar in Chennai

  • From 2024, Yoga Therapy training with Dr NC in Chennai, India

At Purusa School of Yoga, our regular programs include weekly Yoga classes and Yoga Therapy for everyone as well as ongoing education programs for experienced students and teachers of Yoga.
